Newborn Baby Photoshoot

Thank you so much for choosing me to capture some precious moments of you and your new member of your family!

These early, sleepy days can go by in a blur, and it’s so lovely to capture some tiny fingers and toes before they’re up and running around! I can’t wait to meet you all and give you some memories of the first few weeks with your new little love.

Here are some little tips to help you get the most from your newborn baby session.

Will the shoot be indoors or outdoors? This is your choice! I am happy to photograph your new family in either environment. If the shoot takes place in your house I will probably only use one or two rooms which are nice and bright (usually the room with the biggest window). If the shoot takes place outdoors, we can go for a walk! The Lickey hills near Birmingham is a great place to take some lovely woodland photos.

What will I need? You really don’t need much for the shoot at all. A few light coloured blankets are useful and if we are indoors I may use your baby’s Moses basket or cot. Otherwise just yourselves and your little one.

What should we wear? I can totally appreciate that it is very exciting, and you will probably want to buy a fancy new outfit for your photos! I’m happy to take photos in any outfit you would like your baby to wear, but I will also probably take photos of your baby in just their vest or nappy. This way I can get those lovely baby rolls! When thinking about what you will wear, please try and pick plain coloured clothes and avoid large logos or patterns as these can distract from the general vibe of the images. Think about the tones which will complement each other when picking your outfits for your family. A bit of matchy matchy can go a long way!

How long will the shoot last? I try and keep the photo session as close to 1hour as possible but sometimes babies have their own ideas. I appreciate that newborns can be fussy and unsettled so I am flexible if the shoot runs a little over the hour! I'd rather stay and get you some lovely family pictures.

I’m really looking forward to capturing some lovely moments with you and your little one! If you have any other questions please feel free to drop me an email!

Thanks again, and I can’t wait to see you soon.
